Unique jewellery, works to admire and wear: a precious world of metals and “delights” for a ring that is pure temptation. These rings can also be seen resting on its stand making it the micro-sculptures “delizio-preziose”.
After having attended art and design schools in Paris and New York, Marina Calamai moved to Florence, where she began to exhibit her works in 2001. She has examined the subject of food for considerable time, using it as a source of inspiration to create works that awaken the five senses. Her fields of enquiry have roots in two contrasting worlds that nevertheless attract one another: 'Cake Thinking' and 'Back to Nature'. A versatile artist who has also made major forays into the world of fashion and jewellery with her series 'Cherry Rings', 'Cupcakes' and 'Tableau Foulards', Marina Calamai is also renowned for her 'Tables Tableaux': tables dedicated to the world of nature that, together with a series of novel placemats, coasters and wall clocks, give both the table and kitchen an original, fruit-inspired look.
